Orange dynamic started as a project inspired by Rietveld. I took 2 of Rietveld's main design elements; the ability to make something out of one sheet of material, and the possibility of cheap transportation. This is why I decided to make the chair foldable. The prototype is made out of a 12 mm MDF Sheet that is connected by piano hinges.

 

I did not only want to make the chair feel smooth when being set up but also look that way when it catches your attention. For that reason, I went with these dynamic wings and an X shape in the construction of the chair which sort of makes it look like a bright X-wing from Star Wars ;)

Since I wanted the chair to stand out while maintaining my preset goals. I used a bright orange color to not only get attention but also to enhance its smooth, fast, and dynamic appearance.
